Redesign

I’ve been told that the downloads are a bit messy. Therefore, I will be redesigning the links daily - so don’t be too surprised to see a few changes once in a while.

If a link is deactivated let me know, I’ll re-link the downloads to their proper setting. ciao!

The clix2 8gb/4gb!

For those who have been waiting for the clix2 8gb and/or the 4gb, wait no more - purchase a device at http://www.theiriverstore.com/ Rest assured, when I get my hands on the clix2, the games will start flowing again. Until then, I’ll still be brainstorming for the next years set of games and apps.

Keep in mind, that I plan to add a special release game before this year is over. :)

hibernation

It’s that time of year again when the work load increases and “free time” no longer exists.  My maintenance fee was actually quite a bit more than I had expected. I’ll be taking a few weeks off to solely focus on my work - I hope you guys understand. When time permits me however, I’ll release a small game for all of you to enjoy.

block v1.0

block the clix game

I’ve been really wanting an Arkanoid remake in some form for the clix. After a few minutes I just wrapped up a small game remake. The problem with this game however, revolves around the fact that it was programmed in less than an hour. It’ll have loads of glitches and a galore of sneaky moments.

It’s the game nevertheless. I found the clix game play somewhat nostalgic of the old Arknoid arcade game - so I think I did the job right. It only has one level and no power-ups, but in the future versions we can expect some really cool additions.

Sorry this game has been released with the clix dimensions only, when I have the time it’ll be available in the e10 dimensions as well. You can download it in the Downloads section.

Pixelations!

Today I was completely dumbfounded as I went back to coding a few of the games currently in production. So instead of waiting for the next beta release, I present to you all a game I created just for fun.

It’s called Pixel Assassin - don’t ask :D

It’s nothing too heavy, but I just created it for myself to play when I was extremely bored. Now I pass it on to my audience. It can be downloaded in the “Downloads” section, or simply click here.

Basically the object is simple: Avoid touching anything you see.

p.s. Yes, both the e10 and clix version are loaded inside the same .zip file.

The downloads!

A user had reported to me earlier today that the downloads were all dead - yikes! It seems as if all the links were affected by the deletion of my previous site’s links. I think all of the links are back to normal now… If you find any problems downloading, please let me know! I’ll try to fix them as soon as possible.

A little update on my studies, I have about two more days until my examination is finished. Until then, I won’t be able to progress in any of the games.

On the side note, I plan in the future to write a tutorial section for those interested in developing for the clix.

Math at its finest

Although this is a site for a 2souldesign production, I thought it would be appropriate to let my audience get to know me a little better.

If you didn’t know already, I am a still a student in a university pursuing a computer science major and a minor in mathematics. The computer science program requires so much math that, if I were to take one more math class, I would hold a math minor. This has forced me to spend the majority of my summer devoted to studying math under the grueling sun. This coming Monday I will be taking a final exam - this is a bit of an understatement. The final exam will be held inside a room known as “The Bungalow.” It is called The Bungalow due to the fact that all of its sides are made of windows, and the immense amount of heat that it captures creates an active and furious greenhouse effect. The site weather.com has displayed that at the time of my final, the temperature will be 90 degree Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius). This means trouble.

All this to say, for the next few days, I’ll be under intense exposure to numerical functions of oddits and bobbits. I will return full throttle back to the development after this comming Monday - thanks!

By the way, I’ll sneak in an update that Flight is no longer in its alpha stages. When I get back, it’ll be a beta release available at the real downloads later next week. Another thing I should note, I’ve been heavily debating about whether or not I should add one more game for this year before it is over. This game is currently roughly past a sneak beta, but I think I’ll keep it in for a few more months. :-D

Flight alpha 3.0 avaiable (clix/e10)

A boss demo for flight

Well I’ve been working lately on Flight and wanted to experiment with a boss level, after all, what good is a 2D shooter without one? I created a mock-up boss in blender and implemented this boss with the ability to shoot two bullets at our poor hero who lost all its ability to salvo 5 missiles.

Fortunately, the boss can only take 10 hits from our hero before dying. The hero on the other hand, lost its HP meter and will die instantly in one shot - bummer. Our hero no longer glides, but rather has a continuous movement depending on the directions pressed - for some this would be a disappointment, but I think a lot more will appreciate this change.

Here’s a few changes that have been made to the game:

  • Boss added
  • Movement has been changed.
  • Hero has 1 HP (Hit Point)
  • Boss has 10 HP (Hit Point)
  • Score Font redone
  • Weapon changed.
  • Weapon Upgrades cleared.

So there has been a few rough changes to the game, but do realize this that it is only an alpha release. Do rejoice, e10 users, this game has been calibrated to work with both the clix and e10 dimensions.

[e10] Flight alpha 1.1 available

e10

A few e10 owners were willing to volunteer to test out a 128 x 128 version of the game flight, and the outcome seems to be that it works. I have added a new file that can be downloaded specifically for the e10’s dimension here, or visit the alpha downloads section.

If you haven’t noticed, the smaller dimension of the e10 does set a limited deprecation from the clix’s original dimension. For this reason, e10 players may find the versions a little different from the clix’s, but the good news is that the text and graphics will be viewable in a more pleasant fashion.

Flight alpha 1.1 available

Flight - alpha

Despite the busy schedule I’ve finally finished adding little tid-bits into the game - flight. It’s still in its early alpha stages, so don’t expect too much. You can download it at the alpha downloads link.

These are the noticeable changes/additions:

  • New enemy ship sprite
  • Health Bar (glide motion)
  • Health percentage
  • Splash screen
  • Score color

The picture above is the 3D model I used for this game, which was designed 100% in blender. My major goals for this game is to make it fun, playable, and ultimately lag free.

I haven’t decided too much on a storyline, but what more of a story can you put on a 2D shooter than - “KILL ALL!” But if any of you story writers our there have some sort of cool idea for this game - share them!

For e10 users, If any of you are interested, I’ll be for the first time creating a 128×128 version of this game. So stay tuned!
