Well it’s about time! 123ABC(v1.0) has been an asset for my daily life, but it lacked features. After a few month of delay, I thought it was about time to get a new word processor for the iRiver players.
Here’s what’s in the new program:
- It’s programmed in Flash Lite 1.1! Hooray, now the u10, clix, clix2, and e10 can all enjoy this program.
- Load Slots! More space, means more things to write!
- Date features. Stay up to date with a convenient date management system.
- Preview mode allows you to see what is in the document, before loading it!
- QWERTY input!
- Omni directional text wrap! Cycle through the inputs without having to press [Left] and [Right] simultaneously!
- Clean new GUI
- Built in commands: Clear Line, Back, Space, New Line (return), Home, etc…

I tested it in my u10, but it doesn’t works. The note isn’t saved, but the new name title is still showing in any empty slot.
Do you have any problems with your clix?
That’s really odd. To tell you the truth, I wouldn’t know if the u10 works or not, but I do know the clix works well. Perhaps can you give me the file that is under your u10? /System/Flash Games/* and one of them should be 123abc

I tested it on my E10… but it has the same issue with this version as the one before.. the resolution of the E10 is pretty poor so you can barely see the letters :( Can you make an E10 version with larger fonts or something? Otherwise its pretty har or.. impossible to use it with E10

I really like this. Im using a clix 4gb.
the qwerty keyboard should fill the bottom part horizontally as at the moment it just sits in the bottom left corner. there’s no portrait support either.
the preview would be more useful if it scrolled through the document after being highlighted for a little while. that way you can access all the lists on one page at a glance.
you could also expand the program to display text files on the device in a more customisable manner than the current text file reader. that would be amazing, particularly for game walkthrough and shopping lists like i use mine for.
I can stretch the qwerty board horizontally to fit a perfect.
Unfortunately… portrait and landscape is not possible, unless programmed to do so, that’ll take a few hours to reconfigure.
Preview scrolling is an interesting idea - i’ll think about that.
Customized text? What exactly do you mean by that?
Unfortunately, Flash Lite 1.1 can not alter fonts, size, and color - if that is customizing.

I was just curious if it would be possible to use the 123abc program to open a txt file in the same way as the Txt viewer but offer more options, like making the font smaller / bigger, animations and text wrapping / justification.
The scenario i have is that i download game walkthroughs to my clix, most of these are in plain text format. the text wrapping on the clix is rubbish and the font (as far as I am aware) cannot be made smaller or larger.
It makes for a hard to read system. Even the auto scroll assumes you are constantly reading and there are no options to pause the scroll every paragraph or so.
I dunno if this is possible with flash, but you could then expand this editor to save to txt files to the text folder.

You can try to trick the clix into thinking the txt is actually data saved by adding the .txt file into the system>flashgames directory and replacing the .txt to a .data file.
Once you’ve done that, try adding a “txt1= ” before all of your text.
Do note, 123abc has a limit to how much it can write.
Otherwise, I have yet to experiment on this issue…
